Mandala ~ Art Psychotherapy
Mandalas are circular designs that can be used in meditation or used as a way for personal growth and spiritual enrichment.  The language of mandala is symbolic.  The colors and the images in your mandala will reflect your inner self. There is no rule that you have to use certain kinds of color or certain types of material to create your mandala.

What do you need to begin mandala work?  First, select your drawing material, you can use pencil, pastel, watercolor, markerts, and etc.  Then, you need a drawing paper for 12x18 inches.  Also, you may need a rule or a compass for drawing the circle.
The best setting for creating mandalas would be a private space where you won't be interrupted by someone else.

There is no right or wrong mandala. It is just a simply a replection of yourself at that moment of drawing.  So, let instinct guide you to draw your mandala in order to express the unconscious.
After you have finished your mandala, give your mandala a title--but don't think too long. You may also write down the date of creating for your record.  After that, take out a notebook or a piece of paper to record the colors in your mandala, from the predominant color to the least-shown color. Write down your feelings or memories in details about each color and image.  When you are compiling your list, you will discover your personal likes or dislikes, you will also realize your true self.

The mandalas that you create symbolize you.  They are very useful for self-expression, self-healing, and self-exploration.  You may start to try experiencing mandalas as a way to find the wholeness in your life.
