Nordstrom |

This slogan from www.nordstrom.com tries to appeal to online shoppers by suggesting that since they, people who work for Nordstrom, love these gifts, so should the consumer otherwise they won't be up with the latest trends or be included in the collective "we." |

The Limited |
This qoute along with the picture above it, which happens to be the only picture on the opening page for the limited, are interesting because the quote says they are an authority on style, but there are no clothes in the picture. This suggests that they are trying to sell an image as opposed to selling their actual product. |

There doesn't seem to be a correlation between backpacking through the mountains and cell phones, but Verizon draws this conclusion for us. It is apparent that Verizon is trying to convey the message that by buying their cell phones their owner will be progressive and go on adventures. |

Miller |
This slogan for miller beer goes back to the most basic intentions of advertising, to make people unhappy with what they presently have and want something better than that. Of course, Miller ad reps put this in a way that is more concise and appealing then my analysis. |

" Funkmaster Flex and Lugz present the hot new driving shoe." ~ www.lugz.com |
I, like most people, refuse to buy a driving shoe unless it is endorsed by a good DJ. The people at Lugz know this and recently launched a new shoe backed by Funkmaster Flex to boost sales and provide shoe buyers with fat beats as they shop at the release party pictured on the left. Celebrity endorsements are almost a guarenteed way to sell something because if someone likes a celebrity, they probably will buy any product they endorse. It makes the consumer feel like they have more in common with the celebrity, which enhances the illusion that they too will be famous one day. Above all, it is common knowledge that celebrities only use and endorse products that are a sound investment because they would waste their time or money on anything that wasn't. :) |
