Jessica's Poetry
My friend from school, Jessica, has an uncanny gift for the dramatic.  She has written me a number (3) of wonderfully dramatic poems and a fun little monologue, which appear below.  She gets her own special section on the webpage!  Hopefully I'll be adding to this shortly.
The One About Platypi
Reclining on the frozen ground,
Calm, content, and honor bound
Our webbed comrade of the north
Checks his watch and scurries forth.
Though they wander unknown lands
Crawling far from homeland sands
Oh, You! the remarkable beauties of my eye,
The perpetually pleasing platypi.
The One About Ducks
Oh!  how may I weather
The devastating effects of your feather,
That wakes my skin
To a dream of frolicking with my downy kin.
But lo! disregard my brazen song,
A duck in the arms - 'twould be a wrong!
The One About The Frog
I walked into a frog today,
I asked permission to convey
My thoughts on his recent display,
But sadly to my complete dismay
I walked into a frog today.
The Dramatic Monologue About Food
The ways of the food business are fleeting, I attach myself to one only to be made the fool; oh cruel misfortune!  Oh betrayal!  Be still my writhing stomach!  Dinner is a roving fiend; dessert is the only condolence.
The platypus and the vampire bat - two of God's noblest creatures
