HISTORY
Asterix, his fellow Gauls and of course the Romans were finally made
into action figures in 1980 by "toycloud" under the title "playAsterix".
The toys were manufactured in Macau and released around the world in various
languages inluding english, french, german and italian. Their sculpts were
faithful to the illustrations in the original books and most of the main
Gauls were produced as well as a many Romans.
Unlike many toy lines, the figures came in single packs (eg. Vitalstatistix),
twin packs (eg. Vitalstatistix & Impedienta) and multi-packs (eg. Vitalstatistix
& Carriers) which allowed you to complete a set of all toys in any
number of ways. The accessories such as tents, chariots and sections of
the Roman fort could be purchased seperately so you could mix and match
to make your disply as large as you wanted. |
