ALIEN ABDUCTIONS | |||||||||||||||
In 1961, a couple by the name of Barney and Betty Hill became known as one of the first cases of abductions by aliens. On a drive home through the mountains of New Hampshire, they reportedly saw a bright, light that appeared to be following them. They didn't realize it at the time, but later after noting that it apparently took them two hours longer than it should have to arrive at their home and much later after reporting dreams and finally undergoing hypnosis with a psychiatrist, they came to believe that they had been abducted by some kind of being that was not of this earth. Is this story true? I do not know, although I would tend to doubt the truthfulness of it. Still, many people today continue to report unusual visitations from strange beings and many books have been written about the subject, including one by a Harvard psychologist named John Mack and a series of books by the popular novelist, Whitley Streiber. Yes, there are many reports, but where is the evidence? Most of these stories tend to come from people that remember these events while undergoing hypnosis. Are they telling the truth, attributing some other memory to abduction by aliens or are they just creating fabrications for reasons known only to themselves? While it is true that these people tell rather similar stories; is that because their stories are indeed similar or because our culture has become so infiltrated with they idea of grey aliens with large eyes that that is what everyone sees? Answers to these questions are not easy, but I believe reason should take the upper hard here. If people are being visited; let's see some evidence in the form of reported probes or anything that anyone could provide that could support their story. I think for now we must treat these stories with a skeptical eye. Why? Because that is how science works. Evidence and testable, repeatable experiments determine what is the truth in the arena of science. There are some links below to those of you who wish to pursue this matter further. |
