Daniel 7:9,10 “Thrones were put in ______________. The ____________ ___ ________ was seated… The ______________ was seated, and the _______________ were opened.” Ecclesiastes 12:13,14 “Fear ____________ and keep His ____________________, for this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into __________________, including every ____________ thing whether ____________ or _____________.” There is going to be a judgement before the seat of Christ. Every act, word, thought, and motive is going to go to review before the Father the King of Kings. How will we stand in that day? Who will plead our case? How can we prepare for this great court case? Isaiah 55:6,7 “____________ the Lord while He may be found, ____________ upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked _____________ his way, and let the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him _____________ to the Lord, and He will have _____________ on him; and to our God for He will ___________________ _______________.” Isaiah 56:1,2 The Lord tells us to keep what? ________________ To do? _____________________. Look up righteousness. What does it mean?____________________________________ _________________________________________ God’s ____________________ is about to come and His _________________________ to be revealed. Along with keeping justice and practicing righteousness God commands us to keep from defiling the ________________ and keep our ______________ from doing any ___________. Colossians 1:27-29 What is the hope of glory? ________________ in _________ Him we ____________, warning every man and _________________ every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man ________________ in Christ Jesus. The gospel (Christ in us) is the power of God to enable us to live a holy commandment keeping life that will be accepted in the day of judgment. Christ offers us forgiveness through His blood and grace to live a transformed life. He is our righteousness. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily. You are so special to God he wants to prepare you to live eternally with Himself in heaven and to empower you to help others to be ready for the 2nd Coming of Jesus. Hebrews 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great _________ __________ who has passed through the heavens, ______________ the ________ of __________, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a _____________ ____________ who cannot ________________ with our weakness, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then come ___________ to the throne of _____________, that we might obtain ____________ and find _____________ to help in time of need. Many people wonder where Jesus went after He arose from the dead. We know that He ascended to heaven but what has He been doing up there for 2000 years? The Bible tells us that He is preparing us mansions and ministering for us in the Heavenly Sanctuary as our High Priest. What was the main mission or work of a priest? Leviticus 6:7 So the priest shall make ______________ for him before the Lord, and he shall be _______________ for any one of these things that he may have done in which he _______________. Look up atonement what does it mean? Trespasses are described in Leviticus 5:17 If a person ___________, and commits any of these things which are _______________ to be done by the __________________ of the _____________, though he does not know it, yet he is guilty and shall bear his iniquity. Malachi 2:7 For the lips of a priest should keep _________________, and the people should seek the __________ from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts. In Ezra 7:6,10-12 the priest Ezra was a skilled scribe, an expert in the Law of the Lord. The teaching of the Law of God by the power of the Holy Spirit brought about a mighty reformation during the time of the rebuilding of the temple. May God grant the same type of reformation in these last days. A priest had two duties to make atonement for the people sins and to teach the laws of God. Christ our High Priest has by his own blood made atonement for our sins of the past and by the work in the heavenly sanctuary is writing the Law of the Father upon the hearts and minds of his receptive children. –This is the New Covenant. (Jer. 31:31-34) “But this is the _____________ that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My __________ in their __________, and write it on their ___________; and I will be their _________, and they shall be My _____________… For I will ___________ their iniquity, and their __________ I will remember no more.” This work we are to co-operate with because Jesus does not force us to have His laws written upon our minds and hearts. But Praise the Lord if we are willing He is faithful! The 2300 Day Prophecy and the Anti-typical Day of Atonement Once a year the High Priest in the sacrificial system would make atonement for himself, the people, and the sanctuary. (see Lev 16) This was the only time he was allowed to enter the Most Holy Place with out being struck down by death. The Most Holy Place contained the ark of the Testimony, which contained the precious Law of God, the Ten Commandments. The High Priest went in with burning incense to veil the glory of God and with the blood of a bull and a goat for the sin offering for himself and for the people. He then would sprinkle the blood 7 times before the mercy seat at two different times to make atonement for the Most Holy Place. This was done because of the uncleanness, the transgressions, and sins of the people of God. It symbolically cleansed the sanctuary (or tabernacle of meeting) and the congregation of Israel. Daniel 8:14 says “And he said to me, ‘For _____ ____________ __________ ___________ days, then the sanctuary shall be cleansed.” Ezekiel 4:6, Numbers 14:34 and Genesis 5:23 all give us a day for a year which is used to interpret prophetic days. The starting date for this prophecy can be found in Daniel’s next vision chapter 9 verse 25. This is the famous prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27, cut out or determined from the 2300-day prophecy, specifies the exact year of the baptism and death of Christ. The command by Artaxerxes to restore and build Jerusalem went into to effect, the autumn of 457 BC. 70 weeks = 490 years (See Daniel 9:24-27) 7 & 62 weeks or 483 years were prophesied tell Messiah the Prince “Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; but in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering…” “and after the 62 weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself.” Daniel 9:27,26 70 Week Prophecy 457 BC-----7 weeks-----408BC-----62 weeks----27AD---1/2 week—31AD---1/2week----34AD------------70 AD (49 years) (434 years) (3 ˝ years) (3 ˝ years) Temple Begun Temple Finished Christ Baptized Christ Crucified Stephen Stoned Temple Destroyed Christ was baptized in AD 27 exactly 483 years from the command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem. In the middle of the week He was cut off AD31 and crucified for the sins of the world. In Ad 34 the Jews sealed their rejection of the gospel by the stoning of Stephen one of the 1st of the Christian martyrs. This completed the 490 years determined for the Jewish people and in Ad 70 Jerusalem was destroyed along with the earthly sanctuary. This leaves 1810 years for the 2300-day prophecy to be fulfilled. Simple math brings you to the date of 1844. 2300 Day Prophecy 457BC----70weeks or 490 years--------------34AD-------------1810 years-----------1844 AD-----------2nd Coming of Jesus Command to Rebuild Temple Gospel to Gentiles----------- Sanctuary Cleansed Christ ministering in the Holy Place Investigative Judgement Time of the End From 457BC to 1844AD = 2300 prophetic days Christ enters the Most Holy Place Daniel 8:17 clearly states that this vision refers to the time of the end. Christ upon completing his earthly mission ascended to heaven to intercede for us in the Holy Place not made by hands, that is not of this creation. (see Heb 9:11,12 & 8:1,2) This Sanctuary was the one that Moses saw on the mountain and was commanded to make a pattern of. This was done so God could have a visible sanctuary to dwell among His people. (see Exodus 25:8,9,40) This earthly sanctuary was a miniature of the Heavenly Sanctuary and an object lesson of the great plan of Salvation. Daniel 8:14 says that in 2300 days the sanctuary shall be cleansed. We found out, using the same prophetic interpretation that predicted the death of Christ that this date terminates in the year of 1844. We know that the earthly sanctuary was destroyed in 70 AD and upon the death of Christ in 31 AD the veil in the temple to the Most Holy Place was torn in two. This signified that no longer did their need to be any more animal sacrifices for Christ had died the Anti-typical Lamb of God. This simply means that the earthly sanctuary was not the sanctuary that was to be cleansed but rather the heavenly. But what could possibly need to be cleansed in the heavenly sanctuary? Revelation 20:12 speaks of books in which all the works (or deeds) that have ever been done are recorded. From these books we are to be judged. The entire accounts of noble acts and good deeds are faithfully recorded. In the same light all the evil acts ever committed are recorded. These vile history accounts of every individual are the only things in heaven that are impure. In 1844 the work of cleansing these records from heaven began. Every one whose name is being written in the Lamb’s book of life who is being sealed for eternal life are having these impure files completely cleansed by the blood of the Lamb. If one evil record were to remain it would condemn us in this our day of Investigative Judgement and would be sentenced against us during the Great White Throne Judgement. (see Rev 20:11-15) The only sins that Jesus can forgive are those which are truly confessed and have been followed by a sincere repentance and reformation. How earnestly then should we be seeking to have every sin confessed and by the power of the Holy Spirit be gaining precious victories over every evil habit. In 1844 Jesus our High Priest entered the Most Holy Place to begin His final work for our salvation in this our Anti-typical Day of Atonement. In this final period of earth’s history we should be afflicting our souls by confessing our sins and seeking purity in Jesus to prepare for the great day of God just upon us. Either this day will find us prepared or it will find us unready for eternity. This is our time or preparation; today is the day of Salvation. As the Bible says “Receive not the grace of God in vain.” 2 Corinthians 6:1,2 Ephesians 1:7 In ________ we have redemption through His ___________, the ______________ of sins, according to the ____________ of His grace. Do you accept by faith the righteousness of Christ, your Intercessor in the heavenly sanctuary, and accept His promise of transforming grace and power to live a loving, Christ-centered life in your home and before the world? __________________ Will you purpose in your heart, with the help of God, to learn and to practice the Law of God by imitating the life of Jesus, which perfectly exemplified that perfect Law? ___________ Here is a beautiful promise you can claim today Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion, and power, both now and forever. Amen. Jude 1:24,25 About Christ’s Ministry in the Heavenly Sanctuary There is a sanctuary in heaven, the true tabernacle which the Lord set up and not man. In it Christ ministers on our behalf, making available to believers the benefits of His atoning sacrifice offered once for all on the cross. He was inaugurated as our great High Priest and began His intercessory ministry at the time of time of His ascension. In 1844, at the end of the prophetic period of 2300 days, He entered the second and last phase of His atoning ministry. It is a work of investigative judgement which is part of the ultimate disposition of all sin, typified by the cleansing of the ancient Hebrew sanctuary on the Day of Atonement. In that typical service the sanctuary was cleansed with the blood of animal sacrifices, but the heavenly things are purified with the perfect sacrifice of the blood of Jesus. The investigative judgment reveals to heavenly intelligences who among the dead are asleep in Christ and therefore, in Him, are deemed worthy to have a part in the first resurrection. It also makes manifest who among the living are abiding in Christ, keeping the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, and in Him, therefore ready for translation into His everlasting kingdom. This judgement vindicates the justice of God in saving those who believe in Jesus. It declares that those who have remained loyal to God shall receive the kingdom. The completion of this ministry of Christ will mark the close of human probation before the 2nd Advent. Hebrews 8:1-5; 4:14-16; 9:11-28; 10:19-22; 1:3; 2:16,17 Daniel 7:9-27; 8:13,14; 9:24-27 Numbers 14:34 Ezekiel 4:6 Leviticus 16 Revelation 14:6,7; 20:12; 14:12; 22:12 The Great Controversy (A review from Lesson 3) All humanity is now involved in a great controversy between Christ and Satan regarding the character of God, His law, and His sovereignty over the universe. This conflict originated in heaven when a created being, endowed with freedom of choice, in self-exaltation became Satan, God’s adversary, and led into rebellion a portion of the angels. He introduced the spirit of rebellion into this world when he led Adam and Eve into sin. This human sin resulted in the distortion of the image of God in humanity, the disordering of the created world, and its eventual devastation at the time of the worldwide flood. Observed by the whole creation, this world became the arena of the universal conflict, out of which the God of love will ultimately be vindicated. To assist His people in this controversy, Christ sends the Holy Spirit and the loyal angels to guide, protect, and sustain them in the way of salvation.
