The Best Weekends Away!!
All of the trips done by the club are absolutely legendary (Harry’s over used word of the summer!!). They take place all over the country and range from trips to beginners lakes through to trips to some of the best windsurfing spots in the Britain. Last years trips included two competitive trips to SWA racing events, a beginner’s trip to Dacre and multiple trips to Abersoch in north Wales. See the links page for details of locations.
The theme of most of the trips is very in keeping with our general ethos…having as much fun as possible. To this end most of the evenings degrade into a alcoholic haze, whilst the days are spent trying to windsurf – when the fickle friend the wind decides to disappear our other toys come out…climbing, surfing, kiting, football…you name it we’ll be doing it!! |

Summer Hols
We try and arrange a trip every summer and this year was no exception. A week in broad haven gave some fantastic windsurf, some great surfing and awesome climbing. We even came back tanned!! Next summer we will be trying to get away somewhere abroad but it is dependant on interest from you guys…
In the summer of 2002 the club organised a week long trip to Lake Garda in northern Italy. As one of the best windsurfing locations in the world we weren’t disappointed! A fantastic time was had by all – see the photos section for samples of the fun!! |

Miscellaneous Trips
For those of you have done a bit of this windsurfing stuff before there are plenty of opportunities to get out. If the wind is blowing then a small matter like a morning of lectures isn’t getting in the way. Small groups usually go cruising off to West Kirby south of Liverpool for some flat water blasting. Summer trips are also not unheard of and you just need to befriend people and ask what going on…
These trips are not club events…if you want to come on them you need to get down to the socials and befriend those with cars…buy them a couple of pints and when they are suitably wasted spring the idea on them!! |
