The Penn Mar Radio Club Held Its business meeting on February 9,2006 with 12 members present.

The President , Vice-President ,and Treasurer were present for this meeting .

Secretary Report: The acting Secratary /Vice President Rudy N3TQW gave the minutes for the month of January .
Stating that the annual Christmas party had a great turnout and Bill WB3IWU gave away some of
his personal radio related items during the meeting .It was a good time for all. Also the members                                            dicussed  about putting together a float for this years upcoming halloween parade and doing net
from the float. Cathy N3JEM reported that the club plaque is finished and the club is waiting
permission on where to hang it.
Treasurer Report: Nevin reported that the club had a starting bcalance of $XXXX.XX .
                                       no expenses were incurred.
and the club took in an income of $XXXXXX from club dues for the month of January..The
total balance at this time is $XXXXXX .
Repeater Report: Rudy reported that the members have  been noticing noise being transmitted by the repeater. Rudy
explained at if the tone is disabled the machine will transmit what ever it receives also when its
his turn to run net, he will turn off the tones becuase his transciever does not have a tone board to
activate the repeater. When finished ,he would re-activate tones ,and not remembering to save it in
the controllers configurations .So if the site would lose power, the controller would default to the
last configuration. Also brought up in the meeting , members would like to get a copy of some the
basic commands so in-case there is a problem they could de-activate the controller until the issue
clears ,or to recieve there mailbox messages and to use some the other functions are available.

Station Report : Rudy reported that the station should get a good cleaning and that the 80 meter antenna needs to be
re-hung with the new rope as well as checking the connections since the antenne will not tune
properly. It looks like it will be sometime during the spring to to do the work.

YARS & RACES : No Report

Special Modes : Some of the members have taken interest in the some the SSTV , PSK 31 ,and the new HamPal
digital SSTV modes on 145.5 MHz. VHF after the demo that was given by Rudy and Pat .There
will be another date set for another demo for those who missed the last one.One Thing that was
was noted that the clubs computer is acting up giving errors.Nevin will see what he has and put
one together for the club. Possibly 300Mhz machine.

Club Events : Field day is coming up the last weekend of June and the club is looking for a captain to coordinate
                                 setup.
The members discussed plans on having float for the Hallaween parade this year and doing net controll                                    operations from the float itself. We would display signs of who we are and invite folks who have
some kind of monitoring equipment to listen in , but one of the concerns were was audio feedback
from the float and one of the suggestion was to have the station inside a vehicle with speakers
outside giving audio to the crowd . As of now we have approx. 4 people on the committee and
would like to see more to get involved with the project.
HamFest:  Rudy N3TQW informed the members on the York Hamfest meeting that he attended in January. And
stated that this years Springfest will be a tailgate event only both outdoor and indoors in the Show
Building.Operations will be the same as last year. What will be different this year, is that the Hamfest                                       Foundation will hold a cash prize of $150.00 ($25 ,$50 ,$75) that would given away in addtion to what
ARRL has given them for prizes . At first, the discussion was to give away dual band handheld , but if a
non-ham would win the item, he/she would  probably would not know what to do with it and  would
likely sell it for the money. The event will be  Sunday April 23 .Setup will be Saturday afternoon. Flyers
will be printed up and will be mailed to other clubs to lay on their tables .Also we will be passing out
flyers at the Timonium Hamfest this coming March.
Old Business : There are concerns about getting property back that belong to the club such as the laminator, jinpole
and other items that were loaned out to club members past and present Phil ( KA3SRQ) will make
contact with those folks and try to get the items back as well as making a list of what the club has in
in its posession .Nevin will look back into some of the club old rosters to get names and telephone
numbers to pass along to phill and also make some calls himself on the Maryland side.

Don Danner (KB3DRM) announced that he completed his job assignment on getting dates for
our club banquets at Ryans Steak House in Hanover Pa...The dates are as follows: May 11 ,
                                      Oct. 12 , and Dec 14.

New Business: Nevin reported that he has been receiving club dues that are late and the person is paying the
prorate payment not the full payment. He stated that in the clubs by-laws that new members
will be prorated and existing members will pay the full rate regardless what of year it is. At this time
he will not go back to those folks to have them pay the remainder of what is owed, but wanted the
membership to beaware of what has been going on.Also there is a deadline for paying club dues and
that deadline is December 31. and after that time , the member would not have any say on issues
                                      that the club votes on.

New Members : The club voted in Tech. Darrin S. Brown (KB3MOH) of Gettysburg Pa. And Pat WW3U will
                                          send him notification of membership.
Since there was no further issues to be discussed, The meeting was adjourned.

                   Respectfully Submitted,

               Rudolph E. Mullar Jr. N3TQW
         Vice President and acting Secretary
