How to join PMT

At PMT we have essentially 3 'classes' of members.  The member classification was done to try and keep it as affordable as possible. The 3 classes are:

  • Full and Active member - entitles you to vote on any club related issue. Also entitles you to all club publications, promotions, and organised events, including operating on our layout.

  • Junior member - members under 16. They enjoy the same entitlement as a full member, but at a reduced club fee. The member is assigned a committee member as tutor.

  • Subscriber - This is not a true member.  Subscribers have no vote, and can not come to club events without prior arrangement with the PMT committee.  Subscribers do get ALL the club publications.

Since we are trying to get active involvement in model railroading, PMT does not accept members from abroad at present.  We try to focus on members in and around Pretoria in Gauteng, South Africa.

Rules for application and payment

For all new members, a R30 administration fee is payable in addition to the annual club fees. If a renewal is not paid by 31 March, a R30 administration fee is due, as the application is considered as new. These fees are payable in advance, or if required, 3 payments are accepted, given that the full amount is paid not later than 31 March or the current year.  Payments can be made to the treasurer using cash or a personal cheque, or a payment can be made into the club's bank account, and proof of payment handed to the treasurer.

Once completed, the form can be sent to PMT in one of the following ways:

  1. Fax or email to any of the committee members, along with proof of payment
  2. you can bring your form to us at one of the club events, or
  3. put your form and a cheque or proof of payment in an envelope, and mail it to us at:
