The goal of this course is to promote your
English communication skills and prepare you for active participation in the
global world. Assuming that you have a good basic knowledge of English grammar
and vocabulary, you will improve your English communication skills by
participating in classroom activities (dialogues, group discussions,
presentations, projects). To prepare for classroom work, you will be assigned
frequent homework. Your assignments will be based on the textbook, handouts,
and readings from English language periodicals and the World Wide Web.
In order to successfully complete the
course, you are expected to follow English language radio or TV, and to read
English language newspapers and magazines on a regular basis. If you have not
started using e-mail and the Internet yet, now is the time! You will be asked
to report on your readings of material from the World Wide Web and to use e-mail.
