History and Prior Projects
It all began on February 20, 1965 when the Kinsmen Club of Coquitlam sponsored the chartering of the Kinsmen Club of Port Coquitlam with Charter President HansSchinz.

The Club hosted its first July 1st Picnic on the lawn adjacent to the City Hall in
1968, a tradition that continued at Aggie Park for a number of years.

1969 the members constructed Dogwood Manor for Senior Citizens.

1972 - 73, the PoCo Kin Club joined other clubs in the lower mainland zone to staff an information booth on Kinsmen at the annual P.N.E., and their major expenditure that year was their contribution to the Zone project the Neurological Research Centre at UBC.

1974 - 75 saw the construction of a portable stage donated to the City of Port Coquitlam, and Stew Qualley built the Red and White May Day Parade Coach.

1976 - 77, along with the other clubs in the lower mainland zone, Port Coquitlam chaired the famous Kampus 76 National Convention. And in April '77 the First Participark was opened in Port Coquitlam.
