Forgotten Days
If yesterday was all happiness then why am I so sad right now? Have I tried to hard to find love that I've thrown away, All the pain from yesterday love. The romantic songs still play in my heart, The voice still echoes through this empty room, I close my eyes and still feel the hands touching me, Have love flushed out all the pain of those unhappy days waiting for you. I wait to hear you laugh, The laughter of yesterday, I can still feel the love, When your hands hold me so tight, I just close my eyes in the warmth of that special moment, But when my eyes are open, I'm here all by myself, Just holding onto the wind, Holding onto unrealistic memories of you and I. When autumn comes and the wind rattles the autumn leaves, I dream I hear you walking into the room, I look up from the empty dark room with a smile, Thinking that you have come back, But I only find my shadow on the walls, The pain finally sets back in, But it goes into memory when I close my eyes to dream about you, Everything goes away, Every sadness dies out like those forgotten days without you. |
