Tonight, The Last Night
You came and gave me, One beautiful dream, One dream that I could only, Only hold so deep inside, One dream that I could only, Smile about whenever, I think about it, You came into my dreams, Like a flashing light, Coming and going, There you stood beside me, Then within a flash, Of an eye, You were gone. The bed was empty, Like it used to be, Before I knew you, The laughter in the room, It faded away like a storm, A storm that comes and goes, Whenever it wants to, You were there one second, Laughing with me, Singing the love songs, Then you were gone, I laughed to myself, I sang all alone, I laughed with tears, But maybe it was, The tears of pain. I hoped to see you one again, In my dreams, Or anywhere in this world, I hope I’ll once again, Be able to love you, But how could I ever, Not love you, When all the love, That you left behind, It’s still here, Deep within my heart. |
