THE GIANT FROM GULLAMALLOO
A giant from Gullamalloo
Created such a hullaballoo
That his gargantuan roar
Just gave him lockjaw
He was unable to bite or to chew

The fire brigade came
To relieve him of pain
And suggested a diet of drink.
They forced  a  pipe down
Past his tonsils and gullet
To find a large stomach all pink

Ginger beer under pressure
Filled him all up
His belly grew fat and so large
He swelled up like a ball
Then bounced  off a wall
And BELCHED like ten hippos on charge

The amazing reaction
Was a change of direction
And a trail of destruction not planned
As the force of the belching
And the subsequent squelching
Was unleashed on the buildings and land

With his mouth open wide
And his legs stretched aside
His body grew rigid with fear
Unable to contain
All the gases and pain
He began  a strange flight from the rear

A belch forced him backward
A burp stopped him dead
And one sent him into reverse
Till he was flying around
Like a squib off the ground
Wind-breaking sounds and much worse

He eventually flipped
Upside down in a tree
Looking quite tired whilst snoring
But he woke up to cheer
I just LOVE ginger beer
I'm cured of my lockjaw and roaring !
FEAR
My throat grows dry,my stomach tight
My heart begins to pump
My legs begin to tremble
My head begins to thump

My face is pale, my tongue is stuck
Mty teeth begin to chatter
I gasp and gulp and swallow breaths
It seems to make no matter

I tremble  like a sail at sea
My knees begin to knock
My breathing fast and laboured
Knows I've had  a SHOCK

My hair prickles from back to front
My neck trickles with sweat
The awful thing confronting me
I am unable to  FORGET

My eyes are large , my eyebrows frown
My nostrils still - dilated
My cheekbones hard against my teeth
My fear lives UNABATED

I shiver too, my body cold
I clear my croaky vice
I steel myself to face my fear
I REALLY HAVE NO CHOICE !
