The city has hired a prestigious San Diego, Ca. Architectural Preservation firm (*Director Architect Milford Wayne Donaldson, NOW APPOINTED BY GOV. SWARZENEGGER TO BE CALIFORNIA'S Director of OFFICE of HISTORIC PRESERVATION) whose expertise includes historic structures like Needles El Garces Railroad Depot. Consider the early history of this depot, it had every movie star, every monarch or high ranking government official, or wealthy person or persons moving by train through this the "jewel" of Harvey House Depots IN THE EARLY PART OF THE 20th CENTURY. TRAINS WERE THE ONLY REAL WAY BEFORE AIRPLANES TO TRAVERSE THE NATION>
A restaurant and hotel, beginning in 1915. Down in the tunnels that furnished cool air, yes even in the aged toilet waste, have to be treasures of lost jewelry or other artifacts, of antiquities worth millions, consider the lost coins as well! (Gold, Diamonds, Rubies...)Anything of that magnitude of value should be reported to the California State Tax Board as well as U.S. government or its piracy and tax evasion!, come now, with all these pages about money laundering Needles, Ca., you have to know this is the basis for the secrecy.
Glenn Hill, retired jeweler, (his wife, an ex city council member) local resident, told me, he talked to someone who went to apply for work in the RR depot and who witnessed antique floor tiles being removed, and was then told by a supervisor, those tiles "would be sold as collector items outside the city". One of Donaldson's** henchmen was to be paid by city to supervise depot project at fee of $13,000.) Another thing kept secret, was that the depot was full of ancient piles of undulating fever disease pigeon dung and ASBESTOS (keep in mind, 1915!)). I saw no worker at that time, taking any precaution. (They simply walked in and out of their work in this dangerously contaminated area and building without any wearing of the customary protection headgear or other proective clothing. I reported this all to the proper state agencies including the Ca. Tax Board, as well as the feds with no response from them, all during racketeer Gray Davis's term as Governor) And of course, they had many visitors on supervised tours inside, raising funds for months before, unprotected. This conducted by the Needles Ca. Regional museum across the street. One wonders how many developed cancer or died of same) At this particular time, the city had approved, $5000.00 for the architectural firm and $13,000.00 for the superviser**, which one assumes, should have been part of the $179,000.00. (Consider the $103,000.00 spent for removal of a perfectly good building nearby, an unique antique architectural site next to the rr depot, the city just wiped it out, using their favorite intown demolition construction firm, Phillips Co. .*** DURING THIS TIME, SENATOR "PETE" KNIGHT HAD A PHOTO OF HIMSELF, PUBLISHED IN OUR FREE PRESS, ALONG WITH OUR BABY KILLER STEVE THOMAS, COUNCILMAN, HIS UNCLE, OUR MAYOR PETE DWYER, AND OUR CITY MANAGER OF NEEDLES, CA. NEEDLES GANG OF FOUR (see details on side of this page, linking to). On the other hand, I contacted the California and Arizona Newspaper Associations about the local California ("The Needles Desert Star" and Arizona newspaper Mohave Valley News) members, printing a letter libeling me AND then refusing to let me publish a rebuttal. They did not respond. We boast democracy, we lie... (Please Note California Tax Board, the above was reported to 8 months ago! (2000), they have had plenty of time to collect their buried treasure and get rid of same through channels of wealthyt collectors or brokers WITHOUT reporting that to you, or for that matter, to the IRS.
And lets not forget Louis Bravo, Owner of the The Palms Motel, besides his falsifying his commercial zoned properties as residential (its really zoned Commercial 2) for years, it became obvious, as he rennovated his units, he was looking for possible hidden treasure, buried by his former owner, his mother (In one cabin, Jim Morris, his unlicensed worker found 13 silver dollars on a rafter(. Right before I left, I pointed out to Richard Mierer (Navy retiree and suspected in motel's drug operation), one of his tenants, that the part of the sidewalk next to my room steps (Rm8) sounded, if tapped, hollow. There was a curious circular cold spot of about 4 ft. diameter on my front room floor, which I noted, since I slept on the floor. ) Jim Morris said that there was a local rumour that the early Chinese settlers had tunnels under Needles to supply the then brothels etc., no doubt, gold coins dropped there as well
I was told by the adult son of a local real estate city councilman, he "would love to get into this project to take old stuff," out of the rr depot.
***When I first arrived in Needles, Ca., I happened to walk by an antique old house next to the Greyhound station, at its back stood the Phillips demolition team ready to destroy it, I ran across the street to the Four Seasons Nursery, exclaiming to its owner, it should be saved, and it was. No one said thank you, just like the Interfaith shelter in Escondido, Ca., didnt, when Isaved 85 persons from a fire disaster, and then they ejected me, because I cared about safety too much, in much the same way Needles, Ca. evicted me.

(Which according a local innoclast name of J.J., was voted by city council to send to print, with the mayor signing it, this was to protect their involvement of then Steve Thomas,. councilmember killing his infant daughter and uncharged, unarrested, not having to resign his city seat. There is no statute of limitation for murder, let us not forget a local sheriff deputy reportedly stalked and shot 9 times a local transient named Jo. (My guess the infant died at their river outing, then left in the family auto at returned to home, in 120 degree heat, to cover incident. HOW COULD ANYONE IN A TINY CAR LEAVE A BABY BEHIND?
