Consider today (3/26/02), at aprox 4:30 p.m. at a stop near the intersection of Oceanside Blvd and Coast Hwy, I having just left the Churches Chicken restaurant, got on the route 318, bus number 1004. Standing by the driver showing him my pass, he immediately moves forward, almost knocking me down, on my disabled right knee. I scream to let me sit down!, hanging on for dear life onto a pole, he continues his forward motion, as I do riskily sit down, and note that in his rear view mirror, he is laughing! This driver is a decades old Senior driver, I once overheard him say, he earns $17.50 an hour. Is it possible, he needs to be tested for Alziermers disease? At Oceanside transit station, I get on route 320 Express, bus number 1145, and the female driver DOES THE EXACT SAME THING! Was she in a hurry?, no, because a moment later, she stops the bus and talks with the head of security. THIS PULLING OFF HAPPENS DAILY ON THESE BUSES. AND HAS FOR MONTHS! I AM age 63, fairly agile within my disability, but I have witnessed much older citizens being brutally tossed around as if they were sacks of dung. On about 3,23,02, on bus route 358, late afternoon, I sitting down asked a female driver why the "Lost and Found" designation was only two days at the Escondido transit Center and then any lost item was moved to the Oceanside office (which few would know about, its not in the transit schedule book)? She shouted angrily, "WHY DONT YOU ASK THEM!" Adding she said "because there arent any facilities to keep the stuff here." I replied..."A cardboard box." SHE THEN SHOUTED, "WHY DONT YOU GO ARGUE WITH THEM." / The day before on route 350, bus #1014, the blond Hispanic female driver, raced at high speed towards a local high school, braking sharply at a 25 mile an hour sign at the school, stopped at a stop above the North County fair, where I had rung the bell to disembark, as I struggle to walk on my disabled knee, she lets on a passenger AND DRIVES OFF, ALMOST KKNOCKING ME DOWN!, at her seat, I say firmly, I'm going to report her, and all she can say over and over is "Have a Nice Day." Its quite obvious, a large majority of drivers are imbibing TOO MUCH COFFEE OR STIMULANTS!

An Open Letter To: The WASHINGTON DC: FBI, DEA, and DOT(Transportation), San Diego County District Attorney PAUL PFINGST, Superior Court Judge Dumanis, The North County Transit District, The San Diego Union Tribune, and North County Times Newspapers:
INDIVIDUAL TRANSIT DRIVERS CAN BE FILED AGAINST IN FEDERAL COURT, FOR NOT FOLLOWING FEDERAL GUIDELINES. BOARDING THE 302 route, bus 1114, I sat in the Senior disabled front section. A Hispanic or Mexican couple boards with an ENORMOUS baby carriage. she sits immediately in front of me, the baby carriage IN THE AISLE, BLOCKING MY EXIT. The carriage is big enough for drugs and baby, said because she seemed apprehensive. When it is time for me to disembark, I call attention to the blocking to driver, and released, then address him, at his seat about carriage in aisle. He says "There is little, he can do." And I say, "You could alert them." And he replies. "I dont think it will do any good." Later, in another bus, I check to see if federal regulation is posted. It is not. But on bus 349 one, I find it is: "Federal Law 49 CFR 37.167. along with statement alerting this seating for Seniors and disabled. This is never held to by drivers. ( Ihave suggestd in an email to Feds, that the area this woman entered bus, may be a drop off point for illegals to enter transit system. I have noted a considerable number of women and babes or small children enter the transit in this locale, which has a heavily Mexican populus. One never sees the Border patrol etc. carding these, only males. Actually, I have never seen these officers at transit stations or on buses.) Keep In Mind, San Diego Sits Next To Mexico!
I get off near Quince and Mission streets, walk up street to Carls, Jr. restaurant, about a block away, drink a quick snack, and cross the street to wait for a bus 302 going the same direction, IT DOESNT COME FOR NEARLY AN HOUR! ITS SUPPOSED TO BE EVERY 30 minutes on Saturdays. I see two 320 expresses come by, on 30 minutes schedule. During the last year, I have proposed to the Federal authorities that besides these such occurences, I have witnessed buses at wee hours of morning, appearing, across the county, sometimes one following the other, and suggest illegal activities may be at fault, including illegal aliens or drugs.
I am an old man now, 63 years of age, who rides the transit daily. I get on, and read my newspaper, generally, the "North County Times, because it has a small town feel in its presentation. On Aug. 21, I get on Rt. 302 to Oceanside, Ca. bus # 1139, and in that usual impulse of mine, that leads me on path to witness, I go to the back area, sitting across from a hippy type homeless, who addresses me, "How does it feel to be old?", I return it with, "It means that I have be addressed by assholes such as yourself." I then note he is drunk and inbetween his seated legs is a paper sack, which obviously contains a quart of beer, unlidded. He guffaws at my verbal return, but then becomes openly obnoxious, I stand it for a bit, and then tell him, I am going to report him. I do so to the driver, who foolishly says in his microphone, "Is anyone drinking back there." At the Palomar transit stop, the driver DOES NOTHING. And so on we go. At the Vista Transit station, several miles from encounter, I get off, the drunk does too. I sit at a near bench to see how it plays out, the drunk goes by me, sits near me on another bench, still carrying his paper sacked beer. Then he lays down on that bench!, with the sacked bottle by him on the pavement. The driver in the meantime, APPARENTLY DID NOT SEE HIM DISEMBARK, LEAVES HIS SEAT AND GOES BACK OF BUS. THEN HE COMES OUT OF BACK OF BUS, DIRECTLY TO TWO SECURITY GUARDS STANDING NEAR. I GET UP, GO DOWN TOWARDS THE 311, I NEED, AND LOOKING BACK SEE A GUARD POURING OUT THE BEER. I ASK TWO GUARDS PASSING ME, IF DRUNKS ON BUS CAN BE ARRESTED, ONE OF THEM SAYS "SURE." On 311, as we pass, the 302 is leaving, I see no drunk, nor police patrol car. DID THEY ALLOW HIM BACK ON BUS?
On 8,21, NCTimes reported that the transit ridership is down 6%, I can assure, its far worse than that. A lot of it is due to uncaring drivers, few are friendly. Most men, especially drive as if in violence rather than as responsible captains of their ship. The lurching is remarkable! Then theres that discrimination issue on CATRANSITONE page on this website. Which the Dept. of Transportation IS IGNORING. WILL THEY RELEASE THE 128 MILLION FOR THE LIGHT RAIL WITHOUT RESOLVING THESE ISSUES? PROBABLY. IT ALL INVOLVES MONEY LAUNDERING...Julie Nygarrd, C.E.O. of NCTRANSIT BOARD in a Union Tribune extensive article on San Diego County transportation ALLOWED HER TO WRITE ABOUT THE "CUSTOMER FRIENDLY" Transit in this county, which is a load of crap. IS THERE STILL NO RESTROOM FACILITIES AT THE FASHION MALL TRANSIT AND TROLLEY STATION?, OR ONE AT THE SANTEE TRANSIT ONE? IN BOTH THESE CASES, THE SURROUNDING LANDSCAPE IS PILED HIGH WITH DUNG FROM PASSENGERS SLIPPING INTO IT TO SHIT AND PISS. WHERE IS THE GLORIOUS SD HEALTH DEPT. IN ALL OF THIS? ( I dare anyone having dropped their personal load of E. Coli in the commode at the Palomar Transit station complete with ease, washing their hands in that ridiculous lavatory, where one hand has to punch water valve to sort of wash other hand, similar to Zen discipline of applauding with one hand.) WHERE WERE ANY OF THEM WHEN THESE SYSTEMS WERE INSTALLED, ALL FUNDED BY STATE AND FEDERAL IDIOTS, THE SAME KIND OF IDIOTS, THAT ALLOWED TERRORISTS IN OVER A PERIOD OF YEARS TO KILL INNOCENTS, as reported on my terrorists met* pages! (What must our European tourists must think of these deplorable sanitary conditions is mindboggling. And our newspapers as decadent as the unneccessary health risks in such a technological society as ours!, supposely, the most magnificent Democracy, yeah, sure.
8,28,02: TODAY, AT ABOUT ONE PM GETTING OFF THE TRANSIT RT. 302 AT ESCONDIDO, CA., BUS NUMBER 1113, I ON MY DISABLED KNEE GOT UP FROM THE SENIORS (ME THAT TOO) SECTION, AND STUMBLED TOWARDS THE FRONT ENTRANCE, CARRYING MY USUAL HEAVY BACKPACK, ALMOST AT THE ENTRANCE EXIT, THE DRIVER FAILS TO STOP THREE PEOPLE BOARDING (AS MOST DRIVERS DO) AND WE ALMOST ALL COLLIDE> I REMARK TO THE DRIVER, "YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO STOP THEM," SHE REPLIES WITH SOMETHING UNINTELLIGIBLE AND TURNING I SEE HER LAUGHING. ENOUGH! I HAVE ENOUGH ON THIS WEBSITE TO SUE YOUR TRANSIT INTO ETERNITY. FROM NOW ON, MR. MAY I SUGGEST, AN AMBASSADOR OF FRIENDLINESS THAT WOULD RIDE YOUR TRANSITS, GIVING INFORMATION< AND LISTENING TO FOLKS WITH COMPLAINTS, REFERRING THEM PROPERLY. THE ONES YOU HAVE NOW ARENT FRIENDLY< AND MERELY SELF SERVE THEMSELVES.
AND GET SOME OF THOSE LARGE ROUTE MAPS OF SAN DIEGO COUNTY TRANSIT, AT YOUR STATIONS APPROPIATE.DONT YOU EVER THINK OF YOUR CLIENTS?!
THE PALOMAR STATION COULD USE A COUPLE OF GRATED SODA-water machines, FOR YOUR PROFITS. ITS A POPULAR STATION.
HAVE THOSE AMBASSADORS INFORM THOSE THAT ARE LIMITED TO SPANISH ABOUT YOUR MONTHLY PASSES. PUT SUCH INFO ON THOSE LARGE TRIANGULAR PLEXIGLASS DISPLAYS YOU HAVE AT STATIONS.
GET A DAY PASS FOR PEOPLE TO BUY FROM DRIVER, THE POOR, UNPASSED, CAN SPEND A FORTUNE SHOPPING, ITS CHEAPER TO TAKE A TAXI, OR PAY A FRIEND. NO WONDER, YOUR FARES ARE DOWN, ALL YOU THINK OF IS YOURSELVES!
