An Open Letter To Escondido, Ca., Mayor Lori Holt-Pfeiler (Who was also a candidate for Ca. State assembly.)
First the Good news, yesterday (2,24,02, I sat at the sidewalk entrance (close to transit station) to North County Fair Park, where in spring, a hedge of plumbago with its various shades of light blue, present a magnificent display. Suddenly, I realized how utterly dry the ground was, and the plants, will they survive? They are definitely worth the effort, so lovely are they in spring, they would make a fine backdrop for a wedding. Too, at the Grape Day Park, downtown, I passed a circular rose bed with its roses pruned the traditional height, but let me tell what I discovered as a gardener in Bisbee, Arizona. I pruned roses to two to three inches above the crown rather than the standard 9 to 12 inches. This forced the bushes especially older ones to regrow new hair roots and revitalized them so much, that a bushier plant was achieved with huge blossums and many more of them on robust colors. Why not have your gardeners, just try one or two, here and there for your own validation of the method. Too, a special foliar fertilizer called "Superbloom" will make for fantastic foliage and flowers, the large dose of Phosphates making that possible. Now about a little legal problem possibility, to have a sign announcing your parks close at "DUSK", rather than a set time, might in the future be legally challenged, since it is so non specific, and might cause discrimination by park guards, which happened to me, though friendly enough. I merely alert you of the possibility. Jerry E. Barta, Poet-Gardener (Homeless). Please go to page HOMELESS RACKETS.html on this site,  http://www.oocities.org/poet92363 on which I lay out some remarks about the Escondido Interfaith Service. I handed out a formatted copy of that all over North Couny. In the text I mention a bulb/tuber called Anemone, which then bought within my limited income a few at the 99 cent store on Mission, in Oceanside, Ca., mailing them to the editor of the The North County Times newspaper, with also a copy, requesting they send them over to the Interfaith center. In their articles on Homelessness, I have learned there are services available they have, THAT ARE NEVER ALERTED THE HOMELESS STAYING AT THEIR AMORY PROGRAM. Has a lice infestation problem been addressed, I disclosed? No talc sits at the front attendants desk. No brochures or directions to county services or work programs. JUNE 29, 02: THIS PAGE HAS SEEN NO RESPONSE FROM THE ESCONDIDO MAYOR, I LEFT TOWN IN MARCH; BECAUSE FOR THREE SUNDAYS IN A ROW IN MARCH 02; I WITNESSED ESCONDIDO COPS PROFILING HISPANICS AT QUINCE AND WASHINGTON STREETS; HIDING BEHIND A HEDGE BEHIND THE INTERFAITH COMMUNITY SERVICES BLDING: then they seemed to follow me around. THIS MORNING; TWO COP CARS SAT TOGETHER AT QUINCE STREET LIGHT; AS TRAFFIC PASSED ON WASHINGTON STREET; WITH THEIR AMPLIFIERS BLASTING TOWARDS MEXICAN LABORERS WAITING FOR WORK AT A PLACE THEY HAVE FOR DECADES. THE COPS BLASTED THAT THEY SHOULD GO TO THE INTERFAITH NEW LABOR POOL AREA; THEY COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WITH IN THE PASSING TRAFFIC WHILE I ASSUME VIOLATING THE MEXICAN IMMIGRANT RIGHTS IN A HARRASSING FORM. THE FBI HAS BEEN ALERTED FOR BOTH ISSUES: J:B: Be sure and visit on my Home Page, pages dealing with Homeless Rackets...
