ESCONDIDO, Ca., WALGREEN PHARMACY PROFILES HOMELESS:
On the 24th of Feb.,02, I discovered while checking my various purchase receipts that the Walgreens, on 111 W. Washington, had charged me twice for a pint of their brand ice cream. I really shouldnt eat ice cream, it affects my lower legs, I always when indulging only buy one pint, enjoying the sin, sitting under a tree in their parking lot. Leonard Kagen, mgr. near a cash register notice that said Walgreens "refunds cheerfully", refused to give me a refund. I then went and purchased a bottle of Vicks Vaporub, which I use as a salve for my various old age ailments. I see no reason why, as a courtesy, he couldnt honor my request at their cheating me, a Senior and disabled person. (In 1959, at the age of 21, I as a Texas 4-Her won the first national award of Home Beautification for that state. The prize for my winning with a ten year old project record book was a trip to the Chicago, Il., Nation 4-H conference. There I arranged by request, that all the national winners in that catagory be able to meet the elder Walgreen responsible for our competition. Gracious, she invited us all up to her high rise suites, fed us a light meal, and spoke to us as young human beings. The mgr. Mr. Kagan might take lesson, or will when I mail this to Walgreen headquarters. Jerry E. Barta, Poet-Gardener (I at age 63, sometimes still dream of that conference, so impressed was I, with a magic moment of sweet success.
