Its drivers drive well, but speak little English, do they even reside in U.S.?
Its bus schedule book reflects the lacksadasical Mexican manner translated into inefficient use of English written.
Yesterday, 12,9,03, a man tried to go to Winterhaven, Ca, (across from Yuma, Az, about 4 miles). But was told by driver that those run only on Thursdays, THOUGH THE BUS SCHEDULE BOOK CLEARLY STATES MONDAY to FRIDAY routes!
The drivers find the bus book just as confusing!
Riders have to wait up to two hours to go any direction, especially troublesome for those trying to go buy food, especially the elderly and or disabled. I have a resident who has witnessed in the terrible summer heat here (116 degrees not unusual) Elders passing out, rushed to local hospitals as a result.
On 12,04,03: I sat waiting at the correct bus stop for the next bus at the Saturday time of 3:00 pm, it came and turned left on Commercial street, missing me. I then caught a taxi, asking for and getting a receipt for future lawsuit invoking the American Disabilities Act AND MAY TAKE CASE INTO FEDERAL COURT TO SUSPEND FEDERAL FUNDS FOR THIS RIDICULOUS OPERATION.*
About three weeks ago, I spoke with a driver named Manuel, who told me, the buses old, 1988. I asked because, instead of as in San Diego, Ca., or state elsewhere, when wheelchairs are used, a single strap and locking device is used to secure wheelchairs, HERE ITS FOUR BELTS WITH HOOKS< THE TIME SPENT< MESSING UP THE DRIVERS SCHEDULE. Since I have asked other drivers about Manuel, I have never seen him driving again, is FREEDOM OF SPEECH ALSO AN ISSUE?
WITHIN THAT SAME ISSUE, AND TIME PERIOD, I HANDED OUT A PUBLIC PROTEST STATEMENT TO EL CENTRO, COUNTY AND TRANSIT CONTACTS, AND RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. PERHAPS, IF THE BUREAUCRATS SPENT LESS TIME IN THEIR BUREACRATIC BROTHELS, AND MORE TIME SERVING THE PUBLIC, WHICH THE IMPERIAL COUNTY TRANSIT BOOK PROMISES FREQUENTLY ON ITS PAGES< BUT DECEIVES INSTEAD. IN FACT, THEY DONT EVEN HAVE THE PHONE NUMBER OF THE LOCAL DIAL A RIDE LISTED.
THE BUSES HAVE LARGE PLASTIC SIGNS IN THE FRONT DENOTING ROUTE DESTINATIONS. FACT, THEY ARE OFTEN WRONG, so much I emailed the FBI asking if they were codes to alert illegals which buses to take.
On one day, I sat waiting for a bus across the El Centro library, one came and driver said it was going to Seely, Ca, and I would have to wait for the following one. A simple asterisk at the bottom of the page could have prevented the confusion!
There are 5 zones listed with these route numbers, 50, 100, 150, 200, 500, 550, 600, 650-is it Mexican mathematics? HOW MANY FEDERAL MILLIONS FOR THIS CRAP?
At Aurora and Ross streets, THERE IS AN INVISIBLE BUS STOP, a driver informed me, the homeowner didnt want a sign there, how would or could anyone know? There is another invisible one at the El Centro Stark municipal field, on 4th street, one is told by drivers to stand by a particular oleander bush! Both of these stops near Garcia's supermarket NEED TO BE CLOSER TO IT, FOR DISABLED AND ELDERS!
RECENTLY< AN ELDER CAUCASION MALE ON CRUTCHES< WAS FORCED BY DRIVER TO WALK BACK TWO BLOCKS TO HIS DESTINATION< GREYHOUND BUS STATION, DRIVER INSISTING NO STOP THERE...THEN HE PROCEEDED TO THE HOSPITAL AREA WHERE HE ALLOWED AN MEXICAN WOMAN GET ON NOT AT A BUS STOP AND ANOTHER AT CORNER OF AURORA AND 4TH STREETS, where near is a bus stop, but he had pulled past to be in the pedestrian lane right at a fire hydrant.
This transit company has two smaller larger shuttles, it uses for mysterious runs, which could provide quicker El Centro service for shoppers. When I asked drivers, what they were used for, they said routes to Holtville, Ca., but have witnessed regular buses doing that, so it was a lie. Illegal immigrant runs?
I have witnessed older passengers given transfers to go the opposite direction, having to wait 2 more hours, that schedule book, no doubt, at fault. A local witness, told me, "Recently, at library stop, bus told 4 people waiting, it could hold no more." AND LEFT THEM STAND THERE FOR TWO MORE HOURS!
ATTORNEYS: SHOULD THIS NOT BE ENOUGH TO BEGIN LAWSUIT (CONTINGENCY), WAIT, AND I WILL CONTINUE, I HAVE TO RIDE, THE IMPERIAL COUNTY TRANSIT SCAM.
*One bus run comes from one direction to 14 and State st. in El Centro across from City Hall, stops then returns the incoming route MEANWHILE THE OPPOSITE BUS ALWAYS GOES TO CALEXICO RETURNING TO ALSO ACROSS THE STREET FROM CITY HALL. IT IS VERY CONFUSING, (especially, if you are waiting for a bus coming in to go towards Calexio. WHY IN THE HELL THESE PARTIAL RUNS, ITS COUNTER PRODUCTIVE, COSTLY, AND INEFFICIENT.

P.S. On one occasion, a juvenile from one of the juvelnile community schools gave me a free bus pass. He said he "had lots of them at home." Counterfeiting?
I find it odd that they have a far run to three mineral spas in the Bombay area, do the spas pay for this advantage?
ONE OF THE ODDEST THINGS IS THEIR HOLTVILLE AND WINTERHAVEN, CA. RUNS, IT APPEARS THEIR BUSES DONT RETURN THE SAME DAY ON SOME RUNS. WINTERHAVEN IS 47 miles away, a tiny town, with of all things, a stripper nightclub, installed even with protesting Winterhaven citizens. This county has questionable ethics.
The local federal Social Security Office moved from a convient location downtown to a difficult to get to by disabled or Seniors using the transit. I asked that office if they gave out free bus passes. They said no. They should.
