Here I sit in this cell,
You rant and you rave,
You try with all your might,
To this sin, you are a slave,
On the floor, there lies a book,
"I ask you to give me the key,
Feel the chains loosen,
4/13/93
in this cold and darkened place.
All that I'm surrounded by,
are 4 walls & bars in my face.
Locked up inside this dungeon,
Being a prisoner of sin.
"There's got to be a better way, for me."
The answer lies right before you,
Jesus Christ has made the way,
can't you see?
The blood that was shed at Calvary,
is the only thing that can set us free.
to get them off or get them loose.
If it's not with the Lord,
then what is the use.
As you try harder and harder,
it gets tighter,
tell me now, who is mightier?
is this place to be your grave.
You're trapped in this darkened tomb,
nothing there, just your coming doom.
The chains are wrapped around tight,
being a prisoner of the night.
You're blinded by Satan's lies,
Can't you see,
what's in front of your eyes?
you open it up and take a look.
You read the Word of Christ,
offering you, His eternal life.
You want a life of a new start,
you want a life with a new heart.
Blind man, escape from your prison,
and run to the One who has risen.
so that I can unlock this door.
I won't, I don't want to be,
a prisoner of sin anymore."
You drop and fall to your knees,
"Lord God, come in my life, please!"
see the chains snap apart.
Enter to the narrow passage,
live a life of a brand new start
See the gateway open wide,
and run to the other side.
