Intimacy: A feeling of being intimate and belonging together; close or warm friendship.

Intimacy is a lie we tell ourselves.

We are so desperate for human contact, human understanding that we very often trick ourselves into believing that we can ever fully love and understand each other.

We become so involved in our lies that we often believe them to be the absolute truth, when the truth is: they are nothing but illusions of happiness.  In actuality, we can never fully understand each other because, contrary to what we WANT to believe, every reason is ulterior, every motive selfish.

We LOVE, not for the other person, but for ourselves.  So that WE can feel that sense of belonging--the sense of belonging that is never truly there.

I'm sure you disagree... but perhaps that's because you're too caught up in the lie to see the truth.
