She had long hair spun of pure gold
and opal eyes of blue
Reflected by the deepest ocean
and mirrored by the hues ~
Shining with an elegance,
a graceful fantasy,
A mystic beauty she'd become
who lived beneath the sea.
Her captivating loveliness
she was a mystery
A magical illusion
of pure tranquility ~
With exquisite charm and beauty
a splendour to behold
Banished to live beneath the sea
or so the legend told.
Once upon a time there lived a prince
and she was a princess
They were both betrothed to other lands
to forge a happiness ~
But in a moment of blinding passion
she took him to her bed,
A handsome man whom she desired
the day before she wed.
When the King discovered them together
an anger filled his heart
The princess whom he had nutured
had torn his world apart ~
He no choice but to punish her
for her unfaithfulness
Though he spared her life he banished her
to the sea of nothingness.
From her life as a princess
to live beneath the sea
She lost everything to nothingness
with a yearning to be free ~
But before she was sent into exile
she had heard her father say
Until she learnt the true value of love
she would always remain this way.
So this captivating beauty
who lived beneath the sea
Emanated from a legend
shrouded in mystery ~
Sentenced to a life of sorrow
she knew only loneliness
And lived with but a memory
of her days as a princess.
She had no contact with anyone
and only came out at night
Bathing beneath the starry sky
under the soft moonlight ~
Lost within the solitude
of her secret dreams
With a look so mesmerising
embraced within the wind.
She didn't hear the footsteps
that walked along the sand
She never saw him coming,
this vision of a man ~
She only felt his presence
and the touch of his caress
Reminiscent of another time
with the familiar kiss.
She closed her eyes to the dream
but yet he still remained
With his hand upon her breast
and whispering her name ~
Enveloped by a passion
she had lost herself in
With his body next to hers
and his touch upon her skin.
The waves lapped around them
as they lay upon the sand
And as he kissed her naked breast
she began to understand ~
This wasn't just the passion
that she had felt before
This man was sent to be the one
whom she'd love forevermore.
As the tide was rolling in
she knew it was getting late
She said that she'd be back tomorrow
and knew that he would wait ~
So she bid to him goodnight
and kissed him tenderly
Then she swam into the night
to her home beneath the sea.
When she returned the following night
he was waiting on the sand
And as she swam up to the shore
he gently took her hand ~
They began to talk of many things
enjoying their time together
And soon they slowly realised
they were falling for each other.
Sometimes she thought of the words
her father had once said
But it didn't matter to her now
with this love she felt instead ~
And though she couldn't make love to him
until she was truly free
She had given him her heart and soul,
for with him she felt complete.
Every night she met with him
upon their secluded beach
And every night she learnt a little more
of the love she had impeached ~
Slowly she began to realise
the error of her ways
As she understood the reason
of the price she had to pay.
She suddenly wished for her father
so she could apologise
For her disloyalty to the throne
and betrayal in his eyes ~
But then she felt within the breeze
a soft and warm embrace
As she looked to the clouds and saw
her father's smiling face.
She went to sleep in her lover's arms
beneath the starry sky
Enveloped by his warm embrace
in the soft moonlight ~
When they awoke it was morning
and she began to feel afraid
For she wanted to disappear with the night
before the break of day.
But her lover, he was smiling
as he gently took her hand
What was there to smile about?
she did not understand ~
He knew she had to disappear
to her life beneath the sea,
But as she tried to swim into the waters
she slowly began to see.
While they had lay sleeping
just before the break of day
Her punishment had ended
she was no longer a mermaid ~
For she had learnt the value of true love
just as it had been deemed,
And the princess who once lost everything
had gained much more than she could dream.
So the legend of the mermaid
with her hair of pure gold
No longer haunts the waters,
or so it had been told ~
For the princess had found true love
and at last had been set free,
And no longer lives in exile
in her world beneath the sea.

"This is a beautiful romantic tale, inspired by this goregous graphic set! This is a the story of a princess who lost her life of luxury for a life beneath the sea, banished for her betrayal to the throne and to her name. There she was to remain a mermaid until she learnt the true value of love and just what it means....and only then will she be set free. The story begins describing her as a beautiful mysterious creature no one is even sure exists, for she only comes out at night. She wants no one to know her shame, so she sees no one. She lives in her world beneath the sea, and in her private thoughts upon the beach at night, dreaming of what used to be. One night she is captivated by a handsome stranger who shows her a distant familiarity, reminiscent of her former life. There, they meet every night....until the day she realises just what she had done, and learns the value of true love. It is then she is set free from her life as a mermaid, and becomes a woman again....content with the true love she has found, and a life abundant in riches beyond any material wealth, and beyond all her dreams. A romantic tale, with a hint of a mystical legend that tells the story of the princess who fell from grace to a life beneath the sea. And beneath the sea she finds herself, and so gains her true love for always."
