Flowing in a splendour
suspended throughout time
Fragrant in its wonder
draped by love's design ~
Hands that trace a beauty
yearning to embrace
Hidden in the grandeur
epitomising grace.

Showered in a radiance
like a sweet perfume
Petals fall from heaven
as flowers fill the room ~
Reflecting hidden beauty
seen before the eyes
Of the woman who masks herself
wearing a disguise.

Reverberating echoes
fill the empty hall
And surround her as she lingers
by the open door ~
Waiting for a promise
she thought would never come,
A love she once believed in
she'd found when she was young.

History had gone before them
time had left its mark
Parting with great sorrow
this love felt in their hearts ~
A promise to return one day
to where it all began,
When she became a woman
and he would be a man.

Innocence of long ago
promises a kiss
A joining of their love today
a life of happiness ~
Fragrant in her beauty
draped in her flowing gown
This beautiful cathedral
is where her love was found.

As petals fall from heaven
she looks toward the sky
Revelling in the magic
lost within his eyes ~
A vision or illusion
he's all she has dreamed of
Waiting for this moment
the cathedral joins their love.

"I thought this set was inspiring that I had to write a romantic poem to go with it.   Something haunting and mysterious, left to the reader's interpretation of what happens in the end.   A beautiful image and vision, depicting a love that was promised when two people were very young....and like the movie "An Affair to Remember", they promise to meet again at a given time at this given place some years later.   The promise is that on this day they will marry.   She is dressed in her wedding gown, awaiting his arrival....and what she sees before her ~ is it real or is it a vision of what her heart wishes for?   Does he keep this promise to wed his love in the cathedral they first pledged their love for one another?   Or is she left waiting?"
