From strength to strength, the sustenance
comes from deep within
Drawing on the sacred Word
and its sweet offerings ~
Grapes of life abundant
the fruit upon this vine
Are written on the pages
and guide us in His time.

The harvest of the produce
the fruits that we bestow
To give to one another
the joy we've come to know ~
Yielding a peace and purpose
a promise that we share
The gift of life abundant,
we come to Him in prayer.

Though we reap in plentitude
the produce we have sown
The guidance of our Master's hand
shows us that on our own,
The fruits of strength and sustenance
within this life we need,
Is only found within the Word
from which our souls feed.

Water for the thirsty
and food for the soul
Are found upon this fruitful vine,
whose strength can make us whole ~
Like the sweetness of the grape
the truth on which we stand
Is found upon the pages
penned by the Master's hand.

Promises in plentitude
the gentle fruit of the vine
Offerings in sweet abundance
blessed assurance divine ~
Each one of us an instrument
within this life we give
The fruits of joy, love and peace
shows how we truly live.

The strength of life within us
drawn from our Father above
Yielded from His written Word,
drinking in His love ~
With refreshing sustenance
He takes us by the hand
And renews us with His grace,
He always understands.

Drink from the living water
till our cups overflow
Resting in the presence
of the love we've come to know ~
The blessed fruit of the vine
a promise that we share
As we draw upon His Word
and talk to Him in prayer.

From His strength and sustenance
the fruit that's found within
The comfort of His grace and love
and His sweet offerings ~
As carefully we harvest
the food for our very souls
May we always rest within the Word
and the love that makes us whole.

"This poem is about the refreshing sustenance God gives to us through His Word and His everlasting love for us.   We draw on this strength through reading His Word, spending time in communion and devotion with Him, talking with Him (prayer), fellowship and encouragement with other Christians and the knowledge of His undying love for us.   Nothing is as great as His love for us.   Nothing is as true or as unbreakable as His Word.   Nothing can change that ~ ever.   The depth of His love and grace for us is something man cannot fathom on His own.   This poem reflects the beauty and the renewal of the soul through feeding on God's Word, the unchanging truth of the Bible.   The grapes are a metaphor of the sweetness of life through His love abundant, through His gift, His strength.   The Word is food for our souls; its words offering the nourishment and sustenance we need for daily life.   Food for our thirsty souls.   The Word is the fruit of the vine.   Fruit is energy for our bodies in the same way the "fruit of the vine" is energy for our souls, hearts and minds.   It helps sustain us through the tough times, through times when we need to feel God's presence.   We need to keep feeding from this fruit every day to maintain that strength and sustenance.   We need to keep drinking from the cup of life till it overflows.   We need to keep drawing on God's strength because we can't do it on our own ~ we were never meant to.   God offers us the food for our souls in all its sweetness....we only have to take it....and our lives will be refreshed.   We only have to draw on Him, and He will carry us.   We only have to ask, and we shall receive.   Immerse yourselves within the "fruit", that you may replenish your souls with His word ~ the food for the soul."
