Take a walk with me, my friend,
and stroll down memory lane
There's so much to see along the way,
so much in life has changed ~
A welcome place for you to be
within the sheltered woods
While I pave the path for you to walk
the narrow way that's good.
Look back over years gone by
but don't harbour regret
You've come so far since the day
that you and I had met ~
For everyone make mistakes
but you have also learnt
That by the sword of life you live
is from one you don't deter.
Life is full of many things
and you, my friend, are blessed
To know the comfort of things
which bring true happiness ~
For many people go through life
and never ever know
As they wander their "memory lanes"
faced with their own crossroads.
My friend, my child, how proud I am
that you have come this far
Although the road is rough and long
it leads straight into My arms ~
And there I'll be your shelter when
the storms of life begin
To throw at you the seeds of doubt
and tempt you into sin.
Come, my child, let us walk
along the narrow path
As we share our every thought
from deep within our hearts ~
Journey through the fragrant trees,
I'm there to guide your way,
And don't look back with regret
just walk down memory lane.

"A gentle poem about reflecting over one's life and seeing how far they've come through the eyes of the One who sees it all ~ all our mistakes, our fears, our joys, our love, our tears, our ups, our downs, our lives. A reminder NOT to look back with regret of what could have been or might have been, but rather to reflect over how far we've come and to look forward. Memory Lane is a good thing, for many things, people, loves, lives etc. are stored in our memories to look back on with fondness. Memory Lane is a path we all walk....but as we do, how do we look back over our lives? With bitterness? With regret? Or with fondness, joy and happiness? Memory Lane is a stepping stone in our journeys to eternity; it is our strengths and our character....and it's those memories that help make us who we are today."
