"Hope"
The true definition of hope for me,
I see the idea of hope as a plea,
A desperate grasp at the things we need,
A want of things brought on by our greed,
A selfish desire to have things our way,
Hoping against what we need do or say,
A child clinging to chemo for a future,
The mother he looks to for his nurture,
The desire to have Ashley and Miranda home safe,
While the reality of death looks us right in the face,
There is a god out there, watching, somewhere,
A heaven just waiting, for us to share,
A man or woman who loves us true,
A lover to share your life with you,
Though hope usually leads to despair,
Without Hope we would be nowhere,
Life would be meaningless without hope,
Having no joy we would sit and mope,
What is hope to me you wonder,
Hope is a dream in the clouds were under,
Hope is not the impossible task,
We hide behind it like a protective mask,
What is hope I say again,
Hope for me is a dear loyal friend.
