"As Family Suffers"

I sit back in my private life,
Ignoring what I see,

As you appear to be in constant strife,
Blind to the suffering put upon your family,

You live each day in constant fear,
Of what he'll say or do,

With hope that someday one year,
He'll become a man brand new,

One that treats you with love and trust,
And respects your thoughts and needs,

But for now your worries are a must,
That he approve your every deeds,

Remember to ask his permission,
Before you're every move,

Do not make a single decision,
For he just may not approve,

A college graduate you are,
A psychology degree you've earned,

Proud that you have come so far,
Yet blind to what you've learned,

Belittled by your husband's every thought,
As he teaches his son to be a man,

Yet you could take the degree you've got,
And try to understand,

Do you really deserve this abuse,
Is this how your children should be raised,

Put that damn degree to use,
And one day you may be amazed,

I cannot stand to see you this way,
The pain I feel to see you cry,

To see the family suffer each day,
Makes me wonder why,

Why a man would enjoy so well,
Making you fear him so,

Or how he can so easily put you through hell,
With his my way or the highway you know,

You are family to me its true,
I love you all with none left out,

But I hate to see your family suffer through,
A marriage without "TRUE LOVE" no doubt,

Now this might anger you a little bit,
Or find you mad at me,

But the way he treats you is a crock of shit,
And like it or not one day you'll see.
