“Happy New Year” The New Year has come upon us now, With this our time to reflect the past, A look forward to the future some how, A time to make the good things last, Lets take a moment each and every one, To remember the things we’ve done, All the good that we did this last year, The love, the laughter, joy, and cheer, Lets not forget the mistakes we’ve had, Or things that have made us, and others sad, All the things we’ll never do again, The loss of a loved one or friend, But alas, the resolutions we all make, A new years tradition we all break, Its OK your not alone one bit, The first failure of the year that’s it, Now I wanted all of you to know, As this poem ends and I let you go, We can’t win them all and that’s no lie, But damn it you know we sure can try, So take this poem into the New Year, With love, laughter, joy, and cheer, My wish’s to you that your days are many, And that your happy new years are plenty.
