The hands of time move slowly like the dawn breaks through the sky
The colors often muted as the night slips slowly by
Like waves upon the ocean that flow gently and recede
Our life is full of wonders, trials and mystery

A newborn child is fragile, a never-ending task
Each year of life a blessing to be thankful til the last
Each smile a ray of sunshine, every step a new delight
Lots of hugs and kisses to make the day so bright

The hands of time move slowly as we walk through life's vast field
Taking time to smell the flowers that our life will surely yield
With every golden sunrise and a sky blanketed with stars
We reach to pick a flower to enhance this life of ours

The sunshine perched upon the sill and left its fiery mark
Opening the blooms that lay there in the dark
Their fragrance permeates the air and gives a splash of color
Where once there was darkness that seemed forever
