LITTLE PRINCESS
Little Princess that runs through the meadow
January 9
, 2002
Dressed up in her prettiest gown
Looking for someone to play with
But no one is ever around
She dances through fields fresh with flowers
Their fragrance hangs thick in the air
Her voice hums a tune as she frolics
Oblivious to the world's every care
Fairy sprites watched from a distance
They'd seen the small Princess before
Afraid to let on that they lived there
They never lingered for long
Too scared were the fairies of humans
So frightened they hid in the grass
And ran when the Princess came closer
Too late they heard her small gasp
At first she thought she was dreaming
She blinked and her eyes grew quite round
Her mouth formed an O as she listened
To the fairy sprites running around
Her small hands reached out to touch them
Her voice was as soft as the breeze
Somehow they knew they could trust her
As they hid in the bushes and trees
They spent the whole day playing leap frog
They sang and they danced all around
The day ended ever so quickly
The sun was soon going down
A happy day spent in the meadow
One she would never forget
She knew she would come back tomorrow
To play with the friends she had met
