MEMORIES OF SANTA
Memories of childhood deep in my mind,
Memories remembered of a happy time.
Memories held close of my Mom and my Dad,
The love that was given, the fun that we had.
Santa came to visit on Christmas Eve,
Bringing some presents and candy for me.
He listened intently at the list I had made,
And promised I'd be happy, with the gifts that he gave.
His red coat was soft and his beard was snow white,
The belt that he wore was shiny and bright.
His eyes were light blue, and the thought grew and grew,
He wasn't just Santa, he was someone I knew.
His voice was so gentle, his hand touched my cheek,
And I felt the same peacefulness, as when Daddy put me to sleep.
I curled up in his lap, with my head on his chest,
And gave a deep sigh, cause I knew more than the rest.
This man they called Santa with a smile on his face,
A twinkle in his eye and there's no mistake.
His hug was the hug that I felt every night,
His kiss was the kiss that made everything right.
