THE WISHING POND

Somewhere deep in the magical forest
Is a pond where wishes come true
I found it one day when I was walking
In a place I never knew
The water was clear as a crystal globe
Lily pads floated free
Bluebells grew on the shore of the pond
And fairies flew by on a breeze

Seated serenly upon the grass
Was a fairy of infinite beauty
Her long blonde hair hung past her waist
And her dress was light and airy
Her wings were stretched above her head
They were transparent and pastel hued
And the look on her face was very mysterious
As though she had just found a clue

She didn't seem startled when I appeared
She motioned for me to sit down
And then she began to tell a story
Of the wishing pond she'd found
It seems it never stayed in one spot
But moved from place to place
And if you were lucky to find it once
It would certainly be gone the next day

She told me her name was Megan
And asked if I lived nearby
I answered, "my name is Shaylee
And i've always been real shy"
We talked and talked for hours
Until the sky turned dark
And then she led me to a clearing
And when I turned she was gone
