If you want comfort, famous people and no entry fee, then stay in and watch a DVD. I suppose I just don’t think in these terms – a big comfy chair, maybe some good-value popcorn – it’s more about getting in the spirit than being a spectator. And that’s why I don’t see the problem if over half the people are reading; it adds to the social side that everyone can get to know everyone else through this, but it doesn’t mean it’s about battling egos. If you do manage to discourage everyone by reading then, yes, it would be worth a 1/5. If you relax the cyncism about performer's motives, in fairness it deserves at least 3 or 4/5 Reviewed by Joe Campbell |
