Poem of the Week * March 31 to April 6, 2002
~ Forgiveness ~

They talk and talk, and yet they say nothing.

Like battleworn soldiers, the virtuous tread on.
The path a minefield of specters and threats.

Integrity of purpose beats back at shadows.
Still, the rustling of trodding and a trebling song builds

until that united voice surpasses whispers,

commands attention,

and teaches,

that forgiveness was always at the heart of the matter,
and will always be a salve that heals.

As long as I burn for revenge, I will hurt.
Easter is the day for beginnings.
