Wishing that there was more that we had
Thinking that we do have enough
Thinking that life for us is becoming too tough.
Those of us with strong eemaan
End up being the better man
For Allaah knows all that He does
For Allaah is constantly testing us.
Some of us only pray to Allaah
When we are in times of distress
This is not a true believer
For prayer is not only said at times of sadness.
Some of us are very poor
Left without food or water for days
When we have eaten our fill
We do not remember to give Allaah praise.
If we keep our tongues moist with remembrance of Allaah
We shall surely succeed
For there is an Angel on our right shoulder
Writing down this good deed.
Whether rich or poor we should thank Allaah
For He Sees and Hears all
Whether happy or sad we should praise Allaah
For this dunya is a test for us all.
