Alpha Images, the 1st and Final Chapter

In the Fall of 1989, a group of women collaborated and assembled the 1st organization for women interested in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. called Alpha Images.

In order for these women to obtain and participate in the Greek Senate Council as, “non-greeks”, they were required to participate in various community service projects, hold monthly meetings, exceed the standards academically and maintain a positive image on campus.

It was not until February 20, 1990, that the graduate chapter of Pi Xi Omega Chapter held its 1st Undergraduate Rush. Many came, but only the strong were chosen…….






Survival of the Fittest

April 16, 1990, thirteen women were selected to participate in the Ivy Leaf Pledge Club. On June 6, 1990 the Poisonous, Pi Iota Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was chartered.



Since, the chapter is continuously maintaining a strong presence on the campus of William Paterson University. Pi Iota Chapter is committed to promoting academic excellence and upholding the standards of the Sorority.

*one cannot deny history for history is the truth of our sole existence and without it we are nothing.*
