Review
In
the current context of Bush’s “Axis of Evil”, one might be forgiven
for thinking that Blum’s book refers to Iraq, South Korea or even
Iran...But after reading the first page of “Rogue State”,
the reader will discover that Blum is referring to the one greatest
threat to World peace: the United States government. By analysing
US foreign policy in the last few decades, he paints a chilling
picture of the consequences of these policies all over the world.
From US support for Pol Pot to the use and sales of chemical and
biological weapons, he shows the devastation wreaked upon the
populations of the planet by successive American governments.
This collection of case studies is extremely well researched,
and provides evidence for Nelson Mandela’s recent comment that
the USA is the single greatest threat to global stability.
