News Flash!
Anyone else who is involved (lurking or otherwise) in alt.polyamory is invited to Edmonton for the 6th annual alt.poly con. It is running from July 28th to 30th. For more information check out their web page at
On that note, it looks like I will be driving up and can take three more people with me. (There are still one or two more things that I have to clear up before I'm sure if I'm going...)
Poly Words
I have recently been in contact with a few more people around town who may be stopping in at Words over the next few weeks. Please keep an eye out for them in case Lisa or myself are not there.
Future looks bright...
I am interested in contacting groups on campus this September. If anyone will be attending U of C, MRC, or SAIT this coming fall, please e-mail me if you'de be interested in heading up a campus effort.
Donations
Poly-Cal's bank roll is holding at $0.00 and costs are now increasing. If anyone knows of grants etc... that we would qualify for please let me know. Alternately, donations would be appreciated or we can start selling memberships. Any feedback?
Meetings
As always, I would like to get people together at Words for a meeting on the last Thursday of the month (27th). I will be bringing in copies of Loving More and pertinent selections from alt.polyamory.
Logo-less
Poly-Cal is still Logo-less. If anyone has any ideas or submissions please submit them via e-mail or drop them off to me at Words.
Definition of the Month
Swinging: I don't really have a great definition for this one, but it comes up in conversation a fair bit so here it goes. A swinging couple only "plays" outside of their primary relationship. It seems to me that there is little emotional investment outside of the couple. Of course, as in everything, there are exceptions, and my opinion is only one.
