ALEC IN THE HAMMOCK

SON OF ME OWN
GOLDEN HAIR SHINING BRIGHT
LAUGHING HE SAYS
"WHY DON'T YOU WRITE A POEM 'BOUT ME WHILE I'M LYIN' IN THE HAMMOCK?'
SPARKLE EYES DIAMOND SKY GLINTING
DIMPLES GRINNING
DIRT ON YOUR FACE AND UNDER YOUR NAILS
CROOKED TEETH
SPRINKLE OF CINNAMON FRECKLES 'CROSS YOUR CHEEK
WET FROM "WASHING" MY CAR
HE SWAYS IN THE HAMMOCK
WAITING TO DRY
WATCHING BIRDS AND WHISTLING AND WATCHING CLOUDS FLOATING BY ...
HAPPY BOY MY SON
MISCHIEVIOUS GLEAM LIGHTS UP HIS FACE AND
MINGLES WITH HIS LITTLE BOY INNOCENCE AND FAITH
