SOUL INTO THE VELVET NIGHT STEALS

She stood at a window sash
hand at throat
eyes aghast
soul stealing through the velvet night
hollow cries echoing
under sirens screaming shrill
raising the little hairs on her arms and neck

she lost her soul
she lost her self

hollow core
shallow grave to fill
collapsing inward imploding
weightless
...now on notes of sirens shrill
carried onward through gates of hell

POETRY

A SEED OF INSPIRATION

dancing on the wind
a song
to her eyes
captured there
stolen from air
a fine light tune
set a spin into the feet
then arose among the angels
golden sounds fell to the ground
in rain
a dance began again
another ones vision
another ones eyes
another ones spin

MIDI:  BECAUSE THE NIGHT
LAUNDRY

Though obscured by panes of cotton sheets
Harnessed between the ancient elms
I knew that silhouette
Mother hanging laundry in March winds
Head bent to the task
Mouth pursed about wooden clips not Marlboro
I did not help but hid and stared instead
Smelling the clean bleached day
Watching the billows of our bedding engulf her
Snapping and cracking like a whip
