Courtney Copic's Electronic Portfolio

Courtney Copic's Resume

In May of 2001 I graduated from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with a Bachelor of Music degree in K-12 music education. In April of the same year I excepted a position at Earlham Community School teaching K-12 Vocal Music.

Responsible for over 500 students, I have been building a curriculm for 4 different levels throughout this first year at Earlham. Luckily, we have a general music book that covers grades 1-5. However, you'll notice that within these book there are no kindergarten lessons. I use the Music K-8 Magazines (a lifesaver!) for cross-curricular specific lessons, and pick and choose out of the 1st grade music book for music related subjects.

Please feel free to visit the links I've found that have been very helpful to me in creating and implimenting my curriculm.

Student Teaching Experiences...

My student teaching at the Elementary level took place from August 17th through October 13th and was at Cleveland Elementary School in Cedar Rapids.

My student teaching at the secondary level took place at Taft Middle School. I began there on October 16th and finished on December 9th.

Within this electronic portfolio I hope to share my wonderful student teaching experinces at both levels, and share my other experiences and how they relate to teaching. If you have any questions about anything you see here and/or learn about me, please feel free to e-mail me. My address is located at the bottom of every page.

While I was student teaching, my advisor and mentor gave us an e-mail forward that brought a smile to my face while actually hitting very close to home for any educator. I'd like to share it with you.
And the teacher said...

Please take a look at some of the wonderful experiences I had while student teaching at Cleveland Elementary and Taft Middle School.
