Statement of Jacquelyn Adams,
Candidate for Board of Trustees, Oak Grove School District

Occupation: Incumbent, OGSD Board of Trustees
Education and Qualifications: MPH, University of Michigan BA, Morris Brown College, 30 years Public/Private experience and Community service, 28-year resident OGSD

As an active parent of two sons, I am committed to ensuring every child's potential is achieved. I believe that our educational system must continually strive to prepare our children for a constantly changing world. It is imperative that administrators and teachers are held to a high standard of performance, for this generation, and those that follow. As parents our accountability is to support, and provide oversight, of educational professionals to whom we entrust the role of educating our children.

My ten year record of service includes establishment of the District Five Year Plan, approval of Emergency and Safety Plans, Class size reduction, Professional development for staff, partnerships with business, universities and child care providers, visual and performing arts, summer school, after school literacy and math academies. This has resulted in an increase in student test results, Met State Annual Performance Index Targets, fourteen schools received CA Distinguished School Awards, and annual clean audits.

I am a parent, an educator, a Health care professional, and a member of the Board of Trustees. I am asking for your vote on November 2nd to continue the work that will ensure all of our children are equipped for an ever-changing tomorrow.
