The Cloud family originated in England.  They came to the colonies with William Penn and settled in Philadelphia and Delaware.  Their decendants traveled through Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina and north to Indiana, Ohio and on to the western United States; Missouri, Texas, California.  There was a Cloud decendant who fought at the Alamo.
  This family tree is about the Clouds who ended up in Dizney, Harlan County, Kentucky. 
   The Clouds that I do know about were born in Claiborne County, Tennessee.

     Unknown Son Cloude was born 1502 in England, and died After 1542 in England.  He married Daughter Unknown 1527 in England.  She was born in England, and died in England.
     Children of unknown Cloude and wife are: Robert and William.

     Robert Cloud (unknown #1) was born 1528 in England, and died May 13, 1574 in St. James Parish, Southbroom, Devises, Wiltshire, England.  He married Isabelle Bred Collins in 1553 in St. James Parish, Southbroom, Devises, Wiltshire, England.  She was born 1528 in England, and died after 1573 in England.
     Children of Robert and Isabelle are:  Robert, William and Ralph.

     Robert Cloud (Robert #2, Unknown Son #1) was born 1573 in Southbroom, Wiltshire, England and died February 15, 1626/27 in Devizes, Wiltshire, England.  He married Joanne Norys on January 28, 1614/15 in Southbroom, Wiltshire, England.  She was born 1593 in England, and died November 24, 1637 in Wiltshire, England.
     Children of Robert and Joanne were:  William.

      William Cloud (Robert #3, Robert #2, Unknown Son #1) was born July 8, 1621 in Southbroom, Devizes, Wiltshire, England and Died August 25, 1702 in Concord Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.  He married Susan James on June 7, 1647 in Calne Parish, Wiltshire, England, daughter of Richard  James.  She was born March 28, 1623 in Calne Wiltshire, England and died March 2, 1663/64 in Calne Parish, Wiltshire, England.
      Children of William and Susan are:  William, Joseph, Robert, Jeremiah  and John.

     Jeremiah Cloud (William #4, Robert #3, Robert #2, Unknown Son #1) was born February 7, 1658/59 in Wiltshire, England and died 1717 in New Castle County, Delaware.  He married Elizabeth Bailey 1685, daughter of Daniel Bailey and Mary Unknown.  She was born 1667 in Hillmorton, Warwick, England and died in Concord Township, Chester, Pennsylvania.
     Children of Jeremiah and Elizabeth were:  William, Mordecai, Jeremiah, Sarah, Hannah, John and Elizabeth.

    William Cloud (Jeremiah #5, William #4, Robert #3, Robert #2, Unknown Son #1) was born 1680 in Calne Parish, Wiltshire, England, and died May 12, 1747 in Brandywine 100, New Castle County, Delaware.  He married Elizabeth Haues in 1917 in Rockland, New Castle, Delaware, daughter of Henry Hayes and Isabella Unknown.  She was born February 11, 1691/92 in Fullwell, Oxfordshire, England, and died December 1749 in Brandywine 100, New Castle County Delaware.
      Children of William and Elizabeth are:  Jeremiah, Henry, William, Elizabeth and Mordecai.

     William Cloud (William #6, Jeremiah #5, William #4, Robert #3, Robert #2 and Unknown Son #1)  was born 1721 in Brandywine 100, New Castle County, Delaware, and died August 30, 1811 in Fairfield County, South Carolina.  He married (1) Ruth Buckingham in 1748 in Delaware.  She was born 1730 in New Castle County, Delaware.  He married (2) Alice Hardin 1750 in Virginia, daughter of Marcus Hardin and Mary Hoge.  She was born in 1730 in Prince William County, Virginia, and died 1777 in Fairfield County, South Carolina.
     Children of William and Ruth Buckingham are:  John, and Sina.
      Children of William and Alice Hardin are: William, Hannah, Joseph, Noah, James, Daniel and Clare.

     William Cloud (William #7, William #6, Jeremiah #5, William #4, Robert #3, Robert #2, Unknown Son #1) was born September 17, 1750 in Rowan County, North Carolina, and died February 8, 1842 in Carroll County, Virginia.  He married (1) Adeline Martin in 1773 in Shenandoah County, Virginia.  She was born in 1751.  He married (2) Mary Elizabeth Morgan 1779 in Henry County, Virginia, daughter of John Morgan and Mary Rogers.  She was born 1756 in Virginia, and died September 23, 1840 in Winchester, Franklin County, Tennessee.  He married (3) Nancy Vaughn in 1838 in Carroll County, Virginia.
