Welcome to Joy Wilson's Dry Brush Oil Portraiture



Joy teaches realistic portraiture in both Canada and the United States. Although Joy is experienced with many types of media, she is currently specializing in a technique called DRY BRUSH OIL PORTRAITURE. This technique, initially developed in the orient, uses a small amount of paint on a special high-grade nylon canvas to achieve a luster often difficult with normal oil techniques. Colors illuminate with inner glow and add brilliance to the paint. Joy has refined the dry brush technique to a museum look achieved today.
