"Throughout our history, Americans have lived up to our highest ideals by reaching deep within themselves and not doing the easy thing, but the right thing. Let's work together to help our fellow Americans find their way home and give our children and grandchildren an America equal to our best possibilities and our highest ideals."
Remarks by Mrs. Gore
National Press Club Lunch: "Ending homelessness in America"

The "Flowers For Tipper" campaign is over. However, we will be starting a new campaign to honor Mrs. Gore in the very near future. Please check back for details.
"No matter how hard the loss, defeat might serve as well as victory to shake the soul and let the glory out." - - Vice President Al Gore
There remains one person we have heard very little from during this post-election fiasco. During one of the most moving speeches ever given, Tipper Gore stood silent as her husband "took a bullet for the nation". We never heard her complain as jeering and angry crowds stood outside her family home and shouted "Get out of Dick Cheney's House". She never voiced an opinion as her family was essentially robbed of their rightful place as our First Family.
This woman of strength, courage, grace, dignity and humility embodies all of the ideals we seek in a First Lady and in a role model. She is, in fact, the rightful First Lady of this Nation. As such, we invite people all over the nation to join us in our "Flowers for Tipper" project.

During the week of the "Coronation", we plan to shower the Gore residence at the Naval Observatory with cards and flowers. Send a single rose - - or a bouquet. Take up a collection from family, friends or co-workers: 30 people donating one dollar can send a nice arrangement. No matter how big or small the effort, it will be seen and heard around the nation - - and most importantly, by the family who rightfully owns the keys to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Vice President Gore has said, "Now I leave the Vice Presidency full of love for my country, full of gratitude to its people and above all full of hope for our common future."
Now, let us not let Tipper leave without a visible show of our support, love and gratitude, along with the knowledge that in all of our hearts, she is and will continue to be "the People's Choice for First Lady"!
You can join with us in this nationwide expression by sending flowers, or cards, or both!
