We were at the eleventh annual Great Lakes Fiber Festival on May 28, 2006. The show is held at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Wooster, Ohio. Vendor booths featured raw fiber to finished items, spinning, weaving, and knitting demonstration and supplies.

Alpaca at Great Lakes Fiber Show

The Great Lakes Sheep Show and Sale was going on at the same time so we were able to see sheep, llamas, and alpacas sporting their best haircut. Some animals even had their toenails painted.

Three sheep are getting groomed in the above photo. They don't look very comfortable but they seem to endure the fussing over them quite well. Several sheep are auctioned off to the highest bidder.

Many vendors at the fiber show bring skeins of wonderful hand-dyed yarns that they processed themselves. Anytime Elizabeth goes near a fiber place like this she takes her Santa's sack. In the photo above it appears she has it stuffed with some new toys.
