Jack turned to Elizabeth first, and said, in his best high-society drawl, "It's not my tree."
"That's not the point and you know it Jack!" Elizabeth fumed. She couldn't believe that he'd messed up his own plan. She was also starting to regret that she'd ever become involved in the crazy plan in the first place.
"Now Elizabeth..." Will started. He could see the frustration in her eyes and was afraid that Jack would lose his head. Jack on the other hand didn't seem to be phased at all by her fury. He just waved a hand dismissively. "I decided that plan wasn't any good."
"Why not?" Elizabeth asked in confusion.
"Because you and Will got to have all the fun." Jack replied with a grin.
"Fun?! You call this FUN?!" Elizabeth was ready to strangle the pirate that stood swaying before her.
"Aye. I've come up with a better plan anyways."
"What is it?" Will interjected before Elizabeth could do or say anything that they would all regret.
"It occured to me that this little job could be carried off better at night. Now," He added, in way of explanation, "that we know where the prize is located."
"Oh?" Elizabeth raised an eyebrow. "And how do you propose we do that?"
"Why after I leave, with you of course, I climb back in the way I got in. Then I hide out 'til everyone is in bed, grab the jewels, and sneak back to the Pearl. We'll be gone long before daylight."
"But won't they be able to track down Elizabeth? They know who she is after all. And they'll probably figure out that "Charles Fitzwilliam" actually is "Capt. Jack Sparrow." Will was having second thoughts about helping Jack as well.
"Don't worry about that."
"But-"
"And what about Miss Charlotte hmm?" Elizabeth inquired. "She's not going to give you up easily."
"Just leave her to me." Jack winked and swaggered back into the main room.
