Quoth the Raven
Never Thought It Could Happen

Twenty-four hours earlier...

Harry was now seventeen years old, and as they had every year since he turned twelve, his two best friends had sent him gifts, along with most of the Weasleys, and more recently, Remus Lupin and several of the Order of the Phoenix. The packages had arrived when the clock struck twelve, shrunken and carried by three owls, who had accepted their owl treats and left quickly.

He eagerly ripped into the packages, seeking some distraction from the boredom that he was usually faced with at the Dursleys' residence. Ron had sent him a Chudley Cannons tee shirt with his name on it and the title of Seeker. Hermione's gift was a book titled Your Inner Beast: How to Become an Animagus. He grinned, thinking he would deffinitely would be giving that one a try. Mr. Weasley had also sent him a book, this one titled Aparition 101. He'd be allowed to get his lisence now. Mrs. Weasley had sent three boxes of pies, all charmed so that they wouldn't spoil and he could eat them at his leasure.

Remus had sent him his parents wedding bands, Lily's engagement ring and their wedding photo album, which he'd found just recently while going through some old things in his house in London. Harry was brought to tears as he went through the book, seeing the happy couple on the greatest day of their lives, along with all their friends and families. He saw his Godfather, irepressible as ever, spiking the punch at the reception and then grinning at the camera that had caught him in the act. He frowned when he spotted Petigrew kissing his mother, though it was just on the cheek. There was even a shot of James as Prongs, the bowtie from his tuxuedo still around his neck and Lily sitting on his back, as they had chosen to leave the wedding like that.
