A commitment to Social Justice

The dinner was magnificent. The guess were proided with a four course meal acompanied by a presentation which honered people of the Los Angeles County for their outstanding Contributions.
The fruit tree giveaway was a great success. Everyone that contributed to the clean-up took home a fruit tree. TreePeople Fruit Tree Program will be giing away trees in October. Check up on updates so you can take home your fruit tree!
This is not an event but an improvement in Presentations for The POWER Youth. The POWER Youth has come up with a new way of making classroom presentaions more easy to comprehend. Each topic will be place in a Powerpoint allowing anyone without any education on that certain topic to do the presentation. All of the Presentations hae not been conerted into a powerpoint yet, but by the end of this month the presentations should be completed.

CCSCLA and People for Parks are colaborating to revive the garden on 27th street between Central and Naomi every Tuesday at 3:30- 6:00 . If any Community members or High school students, that are looking for Volunteer hours, please come and help us! Eeryone is welcomed to come. The Power Youth are working on bringing a tour of South Central so that outsiders will be able to get a hands on experience about what South Central really is. Brief historical facts will be given about each locations and other places of South Central. We'll update you when more infomation is present.

Video Documentary on South Central Los Angeles
The purpose of this ideo documentray on our boundary of South Central Los Angeles is to proide a history of how the area came into its comtemporary existence as well as the current community perspectie and expectations for the future. "Challenging the Stereotypes"  will include cultural, demographic and historical accounts. The information has been gathered through a ariety of sources: personal and specialist, commentaries, documented data, and photgraphs. this ideo is both an attempt to understand the past and how it incorporates in to the present, while illustrating the challenges for the future.
