Who We Are

Law Enforcement Exploring is offered as a community service by area police departments in cooperation with the Boy Scouts of America. It is geared for young men and woman between the ages of 14 and 21 who are interested in pursuing a career in Law Enforcement.
What We Do
We Offer a unique experience to the youth in our community. The Plaistow Police Explorers hold bi-monthly meetings every other Wednesday at 1830 hours at the Public Safety Complex. Normally one meeting is a training meeting and the other meeting is a business meeting. After meeting numerous training requirements an explorer is allowed to participate in the "ride-a-long" program. This program gives young people an opportunity ride with an Officer in the cruiser while he or she performs their duties. The explorers also participate in many community sevice projects throughout the year, such as Christmas shopping for the elderly, Traffic Control at local events, Secutiy at Deerfield Fair, and fingerprint ID kits for children. We also participated for the first time this year in the NH Law Enforcement Exploring Challenge Weekend. This was a weekend long competition with events such as building searches, obstacle course, and the opportunity for the kids to drive Nashua PD's "Peacemaker" SWAT vehicle. One of the highlights of the year is the NH Police Cadet Training Academy. This is a week long course held at Hesser College. It is modeled after the real police academy and is sponsored by the NH Police Association, and the NH Chiefs of Police.
